• 2018-19 Government Mid-year Financial Projections Statement

    The 2018-19 Government Mid-year Financial Projections Statement (Mid-year Review) updates the economic assumptions and financial projections detailed in the State Budget that was presented to the Legislative Assembly on 10 May 2018.

    The Mid-year Review shows that:

    • Western Australia’s economy is expected to grow by 3% in 2018-19, up from 1.9% growth in 2017-18;
    • the general government operating deficit for 2018-19 has improved (to $674 million), and an operating surplus (of $1,020 million) is now expected in 2019-20 – one year earlier than forecast at Budget-time; and 
    • the forecast level of total public sector net debt at 30 June 2022 has been revised down $3.7 billion since Budget.
