• Rail Access Regime Cost Recovery

The Western Australian Government made a decision to introduce industry charges to fund the cost of the Economic Regulation Authority’s regulatory oversight of the Rail Access Regime from 1 July 2019 as part of the 2017 18 State Budget.

In October 2018 a Workshop was held with industry stakeholders to discuss cost recovery methodology options. A Workshop Paper was provided to assist workshop discussions. A copy of the Workshop Paper is provided below for information.

The Regulatory Reform team is currently analysing the feedback received during the Workshop and determining a preferred option based on the feedback received. The preferred option will then be recommended to the Treasurer for decision and approval to draft the legislation. This is expected to occur in late 2018.

For any enquiries about the cost recovery regulations, please contact Clara Cuevas, Manager of the Regulatory Reform Team, via [email protected].
