Training
To assist agencies with the Regulatory Impact Assessment (RIA) process, the Regulatory Gatekeeping Unit organises regular training sessions for agencies who have not already attended full RIA training. Those who would benefit from this training include:
those with responsibility for implementing current regulation;
those responsible for policy development; and
any Senior Officer with policy oversight responsibility.
Training sessions will continue to be provided in 2011 to cater for new agency staff members who may not be familiar with the RIA process. The RGU is also able to provide agency specific workshops, which allow detailed discussion of a specific proposal or regulatory issue in a more informal setting, normally taking up to two hours.
