• State Superannuation Act and State Superannuation Regulations

    The State Superannuation Act and Regulations set out the Government’s superannuation obligations as an employer for most State public sector employees. The legislation also establishes and provides for the Government Employees Superannuation Board and the Government Employees Superannuation Fund.

    The Act and regulations were amended to provide Choice of fund for most public sector employees from 30 March 2012. 

    The legislation sets out the State’s super contribution obligations for workers:

    • whose employer contributions are paid to a different complying fund; or
    • who are members of the public sector super schemes administered by GESB, as well as the rules for each of the GESB administered superannuation schemes.
