• Western Australia's Risk Management Policies and Insurance Strategies for Essential Public Assets

The independent assessment of Western Australia's insurance arrangements as required by the Natural Disaster Relief and Recovery Arrangements Determination 2011 was recently submitted to the Attorney-General's Department of the Australian Government.

Following recent natural disasters in Australia the Commonwealth's Natural Disaster Relief and Recovery Arrangements (NDRRA) were amended, and the NDRRA Determination 2011 was released.  Under the amended Determination, it is now a condition of receiving NDRRA funding, that States and Territories have an independent assessment of their insurance arrangements undertaken by an independent and appropriate specialist.

The Western Australian Office of the Auditor General undertook the assessment for Western Australia.  As a part of this assessment, the Department of Treasury provided the Office of the Auditor General with a statement on Western Australia's Risk Management Policies and Insurance Strategies for Essential Public Assets.
