• Quarterly Financial Results Report - December 2017 

    This Quarterly Financial Results Report provides financial results for the Western Australian public sector for the six months to 31 December 2017.

    The general government sector recorded an operating deficit of $701 million for the six months to 31 December 2017, compared to a $1,445 million deficit reported for the same period in 2016-17.

    • Revenue for the first six months of 2017-18 totalled $14 billion, $789 million (or 6%) higher when compared to revenue collected in the same period last year.
    • Expenses for the six months to 31 December 2017 totalled $14.7 billion, $45 million (or 0.3%) higher than the same period in 2016-17.

    Infrastructure spending during the first six months of 2017-18 totalled $2.5 billion, $338 million higher than the same period last year. 

    Total public sector net debt was $33.8 billion at 31 December 2017, $1.8 billion higher than the $32 billion outcome recorded at 30 June 2017.
